Juntos Estamos Conectados

Hello everyone, I hope the first few weeks of the year have been a great start!

Here at Juntos, we’re busy thinking about upcoming events and about what’s happening around town.

The Juntos programs in our counties have been doing great things, from exploring colleges, creating crafts and all around having fun.

Juntos estamos conectados

In Pender county, Juntos students visited UNCW on Saturday January 14, not only to tour, but to attend presentations by guest speakers! From the looks of it…

They not only learned a lot, but also had a lot of fun!

I mentioned ‘colleges’, nice catch if you noticed that because Pender county was not the only county to visit a college!

Five of Catawba county’s 4-H club visited UNCC for the South Central 4-H District’s Winter Enrichment. They had quite the schedule on their hands. Attending workshops about on public speaking and community service in addition to participating in a district meeting. While there, they were able to explore the campus through competing in a scavenger hunt! Afterwards they enjoyed their time at Defy Gravity with other 4-Hers!

On the topic of community service, the Yadkin team has recently started preparations on a project. Partnering with a group from Divine Redeemer Catholic Church, the Yadkin 4-H club will be creating Valentine crafts to their local nursing home occupants!

Preparations only just began Thursday January 26, however it holds great promise. Good luck and have fun Yadkin!
