Leslie Cruz-Delasancha

Leslie is from Lexington, NC and grew up there for most of her life, having lived in Mexico for about two years during her childhood. She is a sophomore at NC State double majoring in Spanish Language and Literature and Criminology also minoring in Forensic Science. She has an initiative for helping students of Latino background as well as helping their parents be apart of their child’s education. Leslie joined Juntos her freshman year and has loved it ever sense.

Kimberly Hernandez

Kimberly was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico and came here with the goal to attend the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine after completing her bachelor’s degree. She is a freshman at NC State majoring in Animal Science. She works at Juntos Program because she wants to help provide high school students in North Carolina with all the resources that were never available to her.

Ryan MIlian

Ryan is from Winston-Salem, North Carolina and went to school in Forsyth County. He is currently a freshman at NC State majoring in Electrical Engineering. He decided to join Juntos because he was aware of the program as he participated in it for a short period in middle school. This made him aware of the impact Juntos had on the Hispanic community and made him want to join in order to be a part of this impactful organization now that he has the opportunity to do so.

Abi Rivera

Abi Rivera was born in Hackensack, New Jersey but grew up in Sampson County in Clinton,NC. She is a third-year at NC State majoring in Political Science and International Studies while minoring in Psychology. She has been an active member in the Sampson County Juntos Club since she was in 6th grade. Many of her community outreach opportunities were accomplished through the Juntos and its impact on the Latinx in her community. She hopes to attend law school after completing her undergraduate degree and plans to work in the immigration law field. She started working at Juntos because she wants to continue to make a difference in communities through the resources Juntos has to offer.

Ross Davis

Ross is from Mills River, a small town near Asheville, North Carolina.  He is a third year student in the College of Life Sciences, majoring in Human Biology with a minor in Psychology.   Ross plans to enter medical school after completing his degree at NC State to pursue the path of becoming an Orthopedic Surgeon.  While at Juntos, Ross wishes to create an overall comprehensive and creative work environment that will be able to aid all students through the tutoring program.  He wants to not only teach the proper methods and techniques to be successful academically in a practical standpoint, but to more importantly teach the students to build a positive and efficient mindset towards academics.  Ross believes that every single student has the power to reach success and build towards their college career, which they can achieve through Juntos guidance.  He is a high energy person who enjoys working with others and is very excited to get to know the LatinX community through Juntos of North Carolina.

Raisa Ahmed

Raisa is from Fort Collins, Colorado but grew up in Knightdale, North Carolina. She is a fourth year student at NCSU and is majoring in Psychology and minoring in Anthropology. Raisa takes interest in mental health awareness and enjoys studying various psychological/holistic methods of psychotherapy. She plans on getting her masters degree in clinical psychology or counseling and hopes to become a counselor or therapist one day. Raisa is looking forward to engaging with the evaluation process at Juntos to better understand the data that is being collected to evaluate the effectiveness of many facets of the Juntos program. She has experience with research and is looking forward to learning more about the Latinx community and ways to better help high school students and their families feel a sense of belonging within their communities. She also looks forward to promoting the engagement of high school students in higher education, as well.

Nailah Ortega

Nailah is from Snow Hill, North Carolina. He is a junior at NCSU majoring in Economics and minoring in Graphing Communications. He is also currently working for the NCSU football team. After graduating he wants to pursue a career as a financial or data analyst and eventually, start his own company. Nailah takes an interest in helping out the Latinx community. He wants to do whatever is necessary to help young people be able to continue their education post high school. While at Juntos, he plans to impact as many students as he can with getting to a post-high school institution. He also wants to use his current university experiences to help give advice to them in ways to succeed.

Arnulfo Silva

Arnulfo Silva was born in Fullerton, California but grew up in Brunswick County, North Carolina. He graduated from Brunswick County Early College High School, and is now a junior at North Carolina State University, majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is passionate about helping others in the Latino community.

Natalie Kerkado

Natalie is from Greensboro, North Carolina and graduated from a Guilford County high school. She is a freshman at NC State, majoring in Aerospace Engineering. Natalie is interested in space exploration and spreading the word about how important it is, but is also very passionate about helping underrepresented communities, especially encouraging and working to help them achieve a post-high school education. Through data evaluation, Natalie hopes to learn more about the communities and people that Juntos helps.

Luis Mejia Rios

Luis was born In San Pedro Sula, Honduras. However, He grew up In Statesville, NC and graduated from South Iredell High School. He is now a freshman at NC State majoring in Computer Science. He plans to graduate with a bachelors and become a software engineer. He is very passionate especially when it comes to sports as he spends his free time playing soccer, basketball, spikeball, and tennis. But he is also very passionate when it comes to helping the Latinx community. He hopes that through Juntos he will be able to provide support, guidance, engagement and everything in between to Latinx students.

Amy Arias-Córdova

Amy was born in Asheville North Carolina and has visited Ecuador many times as that is where her family is from. She is a senior at NC State majoring in Spanish Education, and she is eager to have her own classroom to start teaching students the Spanish Language as well as the beautiful culture that comes along with it. She has a very big heart for hispanic students pursuing a higher level education, as she is a first generation college student herself. Amy is excited to become a part of the Juntos family and hopes to bring about positive change to the Social Media platforms to increase engagement and outreach for the entire organization. She has a big passion for working with the Hispanic community so to say she stands behind the heart and mission of Juntos is a big understatement!
