Ortenzia Juan Pedro joined the Juntos as the Program Assistant in the Fall semester 2026. She is currently a sophomore at NC State majoring in Criminology with a minor in Psychology and Spanish. She is from Morganton NC which is the Western part of North Carolina.

As a first generation student herself she understands the struggles that come during the college process. She believes that it is important to inspire and inform many future first-generation students and to have them know that they aren’t alone during this process. “Juntos is the path to accomplishing dreams and building bright futures. Don’t be afraid to become an over achiever because with a good support system juntos todo si se puede! ”

Ortenzia Juan Pedro se unió a Juntos como asistente del programa en el semestre de otoño de 2026. Es estudiante de segundo año en la Universidad de NC State, donde estudia Criminología con un área de concentración en Psicología y Español. Es originaria de Morganton, Carolina del Norte, en la parte occidental del estado.

Como estudiante de primera generación, comprende las dificultades que conlleva el proceso universitario. Cree que es importante inspirar e informar a muchos futuros estudiantes de primera generación y hacerles saber que no están solos durante este proceso. “Juntos es el camino para lograr sueños y construir un futuro brillante. ¡No tengas miedo de superarte, porque con un buen sistema de apoyo, juntos todo se puede!”

Atai Ramirez joined the Juntos program in September 2026. She is a 4th year at NC State University, majoring in Civil Engineering. She is from Sylva, NC located in Western North Carolina and grew up loving snow, waterfalls, and lakes. She enjoys music, admiring nice cars & motorcycles, and loves to travel.

As a first generation student, she knows how scary college preparation can be, and she wants to help other students navigate the process with confidence and see that it is within their reach. “I believe Juntos is important because no student should feel like college is out of reach simply because they don’t know where to start. By supporting both students and their families, Juntos helps take away the fear of applying and shows students that they are capable of reaching their college goals.”

Atai Ramirez se unió al programa Juntos en septiembre de 2026. Actualmente cursa el cuarto año de Ingeniería Civil en la Universidad de NC State. Es originaria de Sylva, Carolina del Norte - una localidad situada en la parte occidental del estado - y creció disfrutando de la nieve, las cascadas, y los lagos. Le gusta la música, admirar automóviles y motocicletas atractivos, y le apasiona viajar.

Como estudiante de primera generación, comprende lo intimidante que puede resultar la preparación para la universidad; por ello, desea ayudar a otros estudiantes a afrontar este proceso con confianza y a ver que alcanzar esa meta está a su alcance. “Considero que Juntos es importante porque ningún estudiante debería sentir que la universidad es algo inalcanzable simplemente por no saber por dónde empezar. Al brindar apoyo tanto a los estudiantes como a sus familias, Juntos ayuda a disipar el miedo a realizar el proceso de admisión y demuestra a los jóvenes que son capaces de lograr sus objetivos universitarios.

Brisa Munoz joined the Juntos program as a Social Media assistant in the Fall ‘26 semester. She is a sophomore at NC State University, majoring in Communication with a minor in Business Administration. She is from Western North Carolina, where she enjoys hiking and exploring the mountains. Additionally, she enjoys crafting and trying new cafes around the area.

As a first generation student, she understands the challenges and struggles that come with the college application process. She is dedicated to creating an inclusive environment both in and outside higher education. “Through the Juntos program, higher education is made possible for families through guidance and resources”

Brisa Munoz se unió al programa Juntos como asistente de redes sociales en el semestre de otoño de 2026. Es estudiante de segundo año en la Universidad de NC State, donde estudia Comunicación con un área de concentración en Administración de Empresas. Es originaria del oeste de Carolina del Norte, donde disfruta del senderismo y de explorar las montañas. Además, le gusta hacer manualidades y descubrir nuevas cafeterías en la zona.

Como estudiante de primera generación, comprende los retos y las dificultades que conlleva el proceso de solicitud de ingreso a la universidad. Se dedica a crear un entorno inclusivo tanto dentro como fuera de la educación superior.

Daniel Soutter joined Juntos in the Fall of 2026. He is a fourth-year student at NC State University majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Daniel is from Wake Forest, North Carolina, just outside of northeast Raleigh.

Daniel grew up working on his family farm, where they raised cattle and farmed hay. He credits much of his work ethic, hands-on skills, and willingness to work hard to his experiences on the farm. In his free time, he enjoys watching football, spending time with friends, participating in water sports, snowboarding, and being outdoors.

His love for problem-solving and interest in STEM are what led him to NC State to pursue engineering. Joining Juntos gives Daniel the opportunity to share his experiences and help younger students who also enjoy solving problems and are interested in pursuing a future in STEM.

Daniel is passionate about working with the coordinators, families, and especially the students. He looks forward to meeting everyone, building relationships, and making a positive impact throughout the year.

Daniel Soutter se unió con Juntos en el otoño de 2026. Es estudiante de cuarto año en la Universidad de NC State, donde estudia Ingeniería Mecánica. Daniel es de Wake Forest, Carolina del Norte, en las afueras del noreste de Raleigh.

Daniel creció trabajando en la granja familiar, donde criaban ganado y cultivaban heno. Atribuye gran parte de su ética de trabajo, sus habilidades prácticas y su disposición para esforzarse a sus experiencias en la granja. En su tiempo libre, le gusta ver fútbol americano, pasar tiempo con amigos, practicar deportes acuáticos, hacer snowboard y disfrutar del aire libre.

Su pasión por resolver problemas y su interés en las áreas STEM lo llevaron a estudiar ingeniería en NC State. Unirse a Juntos le brinda a Daniel la oportunidad de compartir sus experiencias y ayudar a estudiantes más jóvenes que también disfrutan resolviendo problemas y están interesados en una carrera en STEM.

A Daniel le apasiona trabajar con los coordinadores, las familias y, sobre todo, con los estudiantes. Espera conocer a todos, entablar relaciones y tener un impacto positivo a lo largo del año.
